Default adwords question for an expert

If i am using a hubpage or blogger blog as a landing page for an adwords ad but the display url is too long how do i overcome that.

The display url can only be a certain number of characters but the domain of the blogger blog is too long. What do i do in this situation?

I don't think Jake's suggestion will work. The display URL doesn't actually have to exist, but it does have to be the same domain as the landing page. Same domain but not necessarily the same subdomain. Also, you know that you don't have to include the http:// part, right?

So here's what I would do. Say that your actual blog URL is:

myincrediblylongkeywordphrase.blogspot.com

I would try this for display URL:

blogspot.com/asimilarbutshorterphrase

I think that's your best bet. Please post back and let me know if it works.

Jake's suggestion will not work.

Just to expand on Steve's comment to make it clearer. The domain name part (website.com) has to exist (obviously) but you can add any part after (website.com/fakepage) which does not have to exist. Steve's solution will work and may be your best and easiest option.

Or get a shorter domain name. Remember that you can use up to 35 characters for the display URL, including www. (4 characters) if you choose to use it and the .com or dot whatever (another 4) so your domain name itself without suffix can be up to 31 characters or 27 using the www. prefix.
