So here is my dilemia be sure and chime in if you have any ideas to throw into the mix. I am trying to rank #1 in google for Product #1 Review. I am currently and have currently been #2 for about 2 months now. Here is what I have done, I have the main keyword in H1 tags, I also have the keyword sprinkled throughout the text. I have my other pages on the site pointing to this page with the keyword as anchor text and I also have the keyword as my directory www.example.com/product-#1-review.html. I also have my keyword as the first 3 words in my title and description with it appearing a 2nd time in the description towards the end. So from my standpoint I feel my on-page optimization is pretty much done. Now for the off-page, I have done every single one of Angela's backlink packets from August of last year, (this has been over about a 4-5 month time frame) I have also done every single one of pauls backlink packets. So now comes what I am up against, in the #1 spot for the keyword I want is an ezinearticle with this as the titiel - Product #1 Review it was posted in may where as my site was built in septemember. This article has no backlinks to it. I wrote my own ezinearticle to my page with the anchor text again being Product #1 review and that article has gone live and is #11 in the SERPS. What can I possibly do to beat this article from hell. This keyword makes me great money in the #2 spot and I can only imagine what I would pull in, if I was in the #1 and it wasn't being wasted on an article. Any ideas? I even did a movie review of the product and have that posted on my site as well as 3-4 other youtube type sites that allow links back to the page and nadda. I CAN NOT BEAT THIS ARTICLE FROM HELL, Anyways any ideas I will consider fully, Thanks Guys. Scott |

Have you tried posting a YouTube video with a keyword-rich title/description and a link to your page? Just an idea... Gil-Ad |

Yea actually the youtube video I posted plays directly into reviewing the product on my page. So I have it hosted on my page as well as linking back to my site.

Look at the article ranking at no 1 and se if it has any product #1 related keywords you are not using. Add those smoothly into your page. Build more backlinks from relevant pages (Squidoo lens, get product#1.weebly.com and more. Build some backlinks to those as well.) Also use keyword RELATED anchor text on the new backlinks you are adding. If possible, update the page. Google like new content. Ping, bookmark, feeds, articles, videos, blog about it on the different free-blog sites. Make sure to do it all slowly, though. You do not want to lose the number 2 ranking if you are making money from it. (one bird in the hand...) |
