I am new to this part of the warrior forum.... I keep seeing social bookmarking... Could some one explain this?

That Wikipedia article is quite comprehensive, although it may not help you understand why everyone talks about it here. Bookmarking sites are a way of replacing your bookmark menu on your browser. Instead of saving your favourite sites in your browser menu you save them on a bookmarking website. That way you can see them anywhere from any computer.

Most sites will also allow you to make them public. This has two implications. If you are browsing on someone's computer you don't need to log in to see your bookmarks because they are visible to the public. The second implication is that they can also be seen by the search engine spiders. Because the search engines place value on backlinks, having a lot of bookmarks pointing at your site can increase its search engine rankings. Of course people will also see the bookmarks and click through to your site.

So social bookmarking is a way to get traffic, which is why it is a popular topic around here.

now the best thing to do is...start making blog...post interesting stories..then bookmark it on social bookmarking sites...that's a good start

Social bookmarking - It is used to store collection of websites and we can check those sites from whereever, because these are stored in internet..... Not our PC.... that is the basic of social bookmarking. But it is using as one of the strong SEO technique.....Say, If a site is saved by many people as their FAVOURITE, search engines too will give a massive points too it. So, it helps in SEO....

Notice that many people in the Warrior forum are actually doing anti-social bookmarking leading to making users from these sites(like me) becoming pissed off they're getting spammed to death. Just recently there's been a backlash on Reddit because of this.

If you participate in it, do it right. Participate in the community, make comments and don't submit just your websites. If you do this right you can actually become a respect member of the community and gain much more benefits than using automatic tools.
