Hi folks! I am into SEO for over 1 year, listened to everything, Stompernet, Brad Callen, and many more. Something strange happened: Domain with about 100 pages, 1 year old, PR4, gambling content, 4000 backlinks (different sources: forums, 3-ways, social bookmarking, many ezinesarticles ..., both dofollow and nofollow). I have 1 HIGHLY competitive terms I ranked for in position 40 with my homepage (index.htm) in google.de (German content). At day x I found 3 communities withing SERP1-10 ranking for this competitive term. I registered and posted 3 links with the competitive term as anchor text to my index.htm page. Result: 2 days after that the homepage (index.htm) lost ANY ranking for this keyword (I could not find my page anyware). The page was surely not overoptimized. There were many different links with many different anchor text to the index.htm page. Strangely the page ranked well for the 2 other keywords I had the page optimized for (Title was "keyword1 | keyword2 | keyword3" and I only lost keyword1). Does anyone know what happened? I mean 3 links from boards (gambling content) and than this ?? ![]() I spend over well over 500€ in SEO to rank better for this term. I just wanted to post in some really relevant boards with my links. 2nd question: Concerning my link campaings I often see a stange behaviour: During my link posting (Angelas Backlinks -> High PR pages) I see drops in traffic. So for example, my traffic was 200 visitors/day and I didn't do any link building at all. Then I started with the link building (20 links a day) and bam traffic goes down to 150 visitors/day. The last time I saw this, the traffic came back after I stopped posting links and I got about 10% more traffic than before the link campaign. So is it only stochastic behaviour ? No. What happened was: I tried to rank for some SPANISH terms. In google.com these keywords went up about +20 in google rank and in google.es, google.com.mx it went down about -20. What is this? My rankings for SPANISH terms improve in google.com and get destroyed in google.es ? Any ideas? Thanks a lot, Matt |
