I'm building a site and i want it to be as SEO as possible. So my question is, do links that are under the same domain count as back links if i put them with the whole domain name and path to the page?
example: if i put: <a href="www.example.com/whatever ... does it count as a backlink or do spiders treat it as if i made the following: <a href="/whatever.html" ... |

Because its coming from the same host it wont have any effect or very little. Sometimes they show as backlinks in yahoo site explorer but no.
Your best off getting some good backlinks from many different sites with your anchor text. Tom Brite |

You will get the backlink but its obviously not worth it. You will not be getting some real unique visitors that you can get from different other website so i think so its more likely useless to backlink the page on it's own domain but yes if you are doing internal link building then it's for sure effective and works in SERPs as well so you can try that

The very basic of backlinks are links on other websites pointing at your website. Always prefer to get natural links to your web site which will long lost and google’s friendly. Also remember your backlinks need to be replenished each year because some sites along with their backlinks go offline.

It's not worth it, the real backlink is from different IP.
