Hi there, Recently I've had a lot of clients who were asking about traffic. Even they had more than 1k visitors a day they wanted more visitors. Why would you want that? Most of the clients who are spending money on PPC advertising think that if they increase the traffic they will increase the sales too, which is not that right. For example, if you are spending $5k and you have 5,000 visitors and from these you have 500 sales, most think that if they will double the budget they will double the sales too. Which is not that right. My advice is to focus on the current visitors and the website. People from your website buy because of the layout, because of your messages, offers, etc. 1/ Website Optimization Try to analyze which pages are delivering the most sales. Which pages aren't? Look for the time spent on the pages where the sales are made. Do they spend a lot of time there? If yes, it means you could optimize that page and make people don't think too much before they buy. Maybe they can't find the buy button, or you have a bug in the page. Make small changes. Change the buy button name, also the title of the product sale page. Think of changes that could have an impact on your visitors. 2/ Visitor Analysis Even if you have 10 or 100 visitors on your site you should have data to analyse. If you don't have enought visitors start a small campaign on Adwords on your most targetting words. After you have some data, try to analyze what you have. Try to understand your visitors moves. Put yourself questions: if you have 100 visitors in day and a form, why anyone hadn't complete it? See if it's visible and if it brings attention to your visitors. Does it have too many fields? Do you offer them something to sign up? Visitor analysis is the most important part of your business. The CHEAPEST way to increase your sales is to focus on your current visitors. Don't spend money on more visitors. Spend time doing changes for the visitors you already have. I hope this is helpful for you. Traffic is important, but more important is your website! Cristian |

I couldn't agree more. Traffic doesn't mean much these days, the real goal of a great webmaster is the huge conversion rate for their websites.

Yep, there are planty of tools out there that offer you great stats about what your visitors are actually doing on your website, but most of us ignore them. For example Google Analytics is a great tool, even if it looks sophisticated I would advice to pay someone to analyse the data from there rathern than keep investing money in advertising hoping that the visitors will buy. Yes - quality targeted traffic is key to your success and then getting good conversions. This means testing every change to your sales page.

1,000 visitors a day is a lot of data. If I were you was analyzing this visitors - if you don't have experience try to get a freelancer to do that. Those visitors should tell you what are your existent problems on the website, what you should change, why they don't buy, etc. It's all there. So rather than spending money on getting more visitors and have only 2-3 conversions a day try to see why you only 2-3 out of 1,000 visitors become customers. You might target the wrong visitors to your website or your website doesn't sell good. Cristian Quote:
