I'm often asked this question by infopreneurs - "How to sell my ebooks automatically?" Like any business process that involves a series of steps, I have established a sequence to sell my ebooks automatically - and it works even when I am away from my computer, maybe on holiday or asleep! In this short article, I'll share the method I follow to sell my ebooks from my website with each step automated to happen hands-free. The Sales Process When a visitor arrives at my website, and reads the sales letter, two options are available. The visitor can either click on the order button and buy my ebooks, or choose to simply join my mailing list by filling up a form. On clicking the order button, the visitor is directed to an online payment processor to collect payment for the ebook. The Delivery Process Once the buyer's credit card is processed, they are automatically redirected to a download page from where they can get a copy of the ebook to save to the hard drive of their computer or even print out and read offline. This step involves validating that the buyer has really paid money for access, and maybe to control and limit access only to authorized users by requiring a password to reach the download page. The Follow Up Process To enable communication channels to be set up with buyers, I often include a list building process when I sell my ebooks. After the purchase and either before or after downloading their copy, I invite buyers to join a list to receive updates and extra bonuses. When buyers register for the updates, they are added on to a separate autoresponder list, where I can pre-set follow up messages to go out on a schedule. Each follow up message works to reinforce the relationship, offer valuable bonuses and send buyers my newsletter on the topic. The Customer Service Process One of the major time wasters for infopreneurs who sell ebooks online is handling customer service issues. I automate this process by using a FAQ section when I sell my ebooks. Whenever a question gets asked frequently by buyers, I write a detailed answer and put it into a FAQ section. There is a link to this page from my download page, so buyers can check it out for immediate resolution of the most frequent problems. This saves me a lot of time spent answering questions from people to whom I sell my ebooks. The Upsell Process Sometimes, I sell my ebooks to customers and then increase the size of the sale by adding another product or service to the order - an upsell. Even this can be automated. On the page the buyer is taken to after making the payment, I mention a special offer that is only available to buyers of the ebook. The buyer is given an option to refuse the upsell and go on to the download page. Between 10% and 50% of all buyers take me up on the upsell and buy the additional ebook. They are then directed to a second download page where they can collect both ebooks. The nicest part of it all is that everything happens automatically, without needing any intervention from me. I can sell my ebooks even when I am on vacation! That's the best part of being a smart infopreneur.
