How Many Hours Do You Need to Spend Working on Your eBook Publishing Business to Make it Successful?

Not that long ago I was speaking on the telephone with a friend of mine who had expressed an interest in launching an eBook publishing company like mine. From the outside looking in, it would appear as if though I spend very little time working on my business. I think that sometimes my friends get this false sense that all I do is sit around and collect money. That's not exactly true. So the question naturally arises: how many hours does someone need to spend working at this to start making some money?
Everyone will be a little bit different. Odds are that I was a bit on the lazy side when I first got started. Well, maybe not lazy, but just really busy. I was holding down a full time job when I started my eBook publishing business. That meant that at the end of a long day at work, I'd have to come home, eat dinner, unwind a little bit, and then summon the energy to work on my business. That's not easy. As a result of having a limited amount of time, it forced me to organize my business in a way that minimized my personal day-to-day involvement. I automated a lot of different facets of my business.
But what a lot of my friends fail to realize is that when I was just starting, and in the same general position that you are right now, I'd devote a lot of time to working on my business. So how many hours do you need to put into your business so that you'll be successful? I'd recommend at least 45 minutes Monday through Friday. Hey, if I could do it, you can do it too.
