The other day I was having lunch with a good friend of mine who has a good job that pays well. He was telling me that his boss had recently asked him to put together a document outlining his day-to-day tasks as well as what procedures he used to complete those tasks. My friend immediately felt less confident in the stability of his job. His impression was that his job might soon be outsourced elsewhere or completely eliminated and the responsibilities shifted to someone else.

When it came time to pay the bill, I insisted on paying. I whipped out my American Express card and happily paid. He jokingly asked if I planned to take a tax deduction for the meal.
