Everyone Wants a Website
It is becoming widespread knowledge that internet marketing or web marketing , or online marketing, or whatever you call it , is making a killing online. So everyone wants a piece of the pie.
After making your website,and submitting it to the search enginesyou now have to generate the traffic to the website, it just does not happen automatically.
You may notice subsequently a few weeks go by that very few people show up, and then you discover that you had to “optimize” your website around the main keyword that you want your website to show up for. At this point you feel like scrapping this website and starting a new one, when all you have to do is make a few keyword changes with your pages.
Before You Begin
There are a few issues that must be done before creating a website. And one of the first most important things is to do a keyword search surrounding the issue of your website.
Google offers a free Keyword analysis tool and so does Traffic Travis. Hovever there are paying keytools if you wish to spend your money.
You enter the keyword , let’s say it is “Internet Marketing” , in the Google keyword Analysis Tool, then you would get a page that shows you all the words that searchers use to search for Internet marketing on the internet. Notice to the right of all the keywords used that there is a number which shows how many people search for that word or phrase every calendar month.
The most obvious thing would be to choose the keyword which is searched for the most, however if you target the wrong keywords ,all your efforts would be in vain.
Choose the Correct Keyword
However,that would not be the correct thing to do. Look for a keyword that is not used as often by searchers, rather of the highest ranking keyword. The reason for this is that you would have way too much contention fighting for that keyword, and since you are a new website, you may not have a chance to vie for that particular keyword.
So instead of going after “Internet Marketing” or even the second or third ranking keyword, you can go after the fifth or sixth ranking keyword. So you may choose “Affiliate Marketing” or “Lead Generation.” These are searched about one third the number of times as Internet Marketing, but it is still searched by more than half a million people a month, so if you get ten percent of those searchers that’s over fifty thousand people a month , which is a great number of people to come to your website and this would begin to send up your ranking with google which would start to put you on the front page of Google. When this starts happening, you can then start vieing for the more plain keywords.
ON Page Optimization
our website must be properly optimized , that means that your keyword should be prominently placed within your website.
Google looks at “ON page optimization ,and “OFF page” optimization to determine the rank of your website.
On Page Optimization means how well your website is optimized with the keyword you want to rank highly for.
Off Page Optimization has to do with your website linking to other websites and other( especially) high ranking websites linking to your website. This gives you a boost when other websites show that confidence in you.
Here I am only going into “On page Optimization”. You have to make sure that your main keyword is in your URL preferably, It must be in the name of your website , in the title and scattered through the landing page ,or any other page that you want that word to rank highly for .
You should have a keyword density of 4%. That means if there are 400 words in your article , your keyword should be mentioned about 15 to 16 times.Your keyword should be in the last paragraph of your article, or the last line.
Well hope that you would be able to optimize your website for a suitable keyword that would attract droves of traffic from all the search engines.
