Your mind is like a garden if left to run wild it will be filled with weeds and chock out the crops. If you don’t take notice and control your thoughts your goals will fall by the wayside and you won’t achieve what you set out to do.
This is especially true when you are online. You connect to the internet to accomplish a specific task and the next thing you know you’re looking at a website about God knows what. How did you get here and how much time have you wasted?
If you’re running an online, or even an offline, business you must have specific goals when you connect to the internet because it is way too easy to become side tracked.
For example you turn on your computer to read your email and make some blog updates. When you read your email there is an email from one of your friends saying there is a new post on facebook. So you login to facebook and read his post. While doing that you notice on his wall another post from another friend and check that out. While on that page you see an ad for something that peaks your interest so you check it out.
Something in on that webpage makes you curious so you Google it and check out that other topic. That in turn leads to another and another and before you know it you’re reading about Martians that attacked the moon. Well many not exactly that but before you know it it’s 2 hours later and no blog post and you need to get ready for bed because you have to be up at 4 am.
The best thing is to have a plan laid out before you even turn on the computer. Make a short list of what you MUST accomplish while online. After you complete those tasks and ONLY then are you free to roam. But I would even keep senseless roaming to a minimum, after all you are online to make money and if you keep that focus you will accomplish your goals far sooner.

Focus and accomplish the tasks in front of you
Do NOT do anything else until those tasks are completed.
Then, and only then consider playing online, but if you want to succeed I’d make another list and move your business forward and achieve your ultimate goal.
