Let's face it, building out an army of niche websites can be time consuming (and boring) which is why PLR blogs are such a great solution. These premade blogs are already loaded with articles, affiliate products and a great design so instead of taking several days to get your site up, you can literally be in business within an hour.

However, getting traffic to a PLR blog is a bit more of a challenge than a unique website simply because other people have the same content. But, you should not let that dissuade you from using them, because I'm going to show you the exact things you can do to easily get traffic, and profits, from your PLR websites.

Keywords Are Key For Your PLR Blog

Just like with most any other kind of website, keywords are critical to your success with PLR websites. A lot of people give out keyword lists with their PLR packages but I personally think you should ignore those and do your own research because if you use the supplied keywords, then you will be using the same keywords as everyone else. In order to limit your competition, it is much smarter to do your own research and come up with your own keywords.

Ideally, you want to pick a great keyword for you're the domain name and buy exact match domains for your PLR blogs. If you can't find the exact match, don't panic... you can use a word at the end like "guide" or "tips" or whatever you like and you will still get a benefit, although not quite as much as if you can find a domain with the exact phrase only. I usually only buy .com, .org or .net domains as those seem to work best for some strange reason.

Once, you have your keyword, you want to change the homepage to have that keyword on there. If you can, try to include it in an The title, the description, your keyword meta tag in your header, H1 tag, alt tag of an image, bolded somewhere in your text and sprinkled throughout your homepage.

Getting Backlinks To PLR Blogs

If you want your website to rank in the SERPS, then you need backlinks. This is just as true for a PLR Blog as it is for any other type of site.

But where do you get them from?

My favorite places are article submissions, blog comments and press releases. Social bookmarking is good to do to but the benefits are really minimal so you don't need to go crazy bookmarking every single page on your site.

What I would do is write a press release (or outsource) and submit to several of the top press release directories.

Then, write up about 5 or 6 articles that target your main keyword that you are trying to rank the homepage for as well as different variations of that keyword. You are going to submit these articles to the top article directories and link back to your PLR Blogs homepage as well as 1 inner page in the resource box. I usually submit them to ezinearticles.com first, then once approved I submit to a variety of other directories, changing the resource box to link back to my other articles (more on that in the next section).

While you are spreading your article around, you might consider also submitting it to some of the "web 2.0" properties such as blogspot, tubmlr, weebly, squidoo etc... The more the merrier and if you can rewrite the article for each one that's even better.

It's important to note here that you don't want to always just link to your homepage, you want to also link to your inner pages and category pages. Also, vary the anchor text to your homepage so that you are not always using your main keyword (only use that about 70% of the time and variations the rest of the time).

Next, go out and find some high PR blog posts to comment on. When I say "high PR blog posts" I mean the PR of the actual blog page, not just the PR the main domain page. Take the time to read the post and leave an informative and insightful comment and you will be rewarded with a nice backlink to the homepage of your PLR blog. Once your comment is accepted, ping the url so it gets noticed by the search engines.

You MUST Backlink Your Backlinks

These days, it's not enough to just submit articles, you need to backlink your articles so that they carry some clout, after all, getting links to your PLR blogs from a page with plenty of back links that point too it is a hundred times better than getting a link from a page that has 0 links pointing to it.

So, what you need to do when you are submitting your articles to the directories and web2.0 properties is use 1 resource box link for your website and the other for one of your other articles.

Now, I know there are a lot of complicated link wheel diagrams out there, but I just prefer to randomly link back to other articles this way you will have less of a chance of creating any kind of pattern that the SE's can detect. I usually pick a couple of top articles that I throw most of the links at but I do spread it around so that almost all of them get some juice.

Leveraging Your Traffic

It's important to realize that you probably are not going to see traffic overnight, but after a few weeks you will start to see some dribble in.

Now comes the fun part.

Once you start seeing around 10 or 20 unique visitors a day, you want to look in your logs and see what keywords you are being found for. Then you want to go to google and see where you rank for each of these keywords. If you have your PLR blogs in Google webmaster tools, you can easily see what keywords you are getting clicks for and where your page ranks.

For those keywords where you are not already #1, look at the competition for these keywords and pick out the ones that you think you can rank for easily. The repeat the article writing and submitting process for these pages.

Keep repeating this process and you will find that your traffic builds higher and higher as your pages move up in the SERPS!

So, getting traffic to your PLR blogs is really no different than any other website or blog. It might seem like a lot of work at first, but what you are doing is setting up an income stream that earns you money day in and day out with very little maintenance once the initial work is done.

The real benefit here is that by using a PLR Blog, you will be able to get the site up and running in under an hour and then be able to focus on driving traffic using the methods mentioned above.
