Overcoming Procrastination Failure in business, and in life, can be strongly linked to Procrastination which in turn is the result of a lack of decision. You cannot succeed at anything until you DECIDE to do so. When one procrastinates they fail to make a decision. But this too is a decision; they decide not to decide which in itself is a decision to fail. Those that have accumulated a fortune to become millionaires and billionaires, have the ability to reach decision quickly and change their decision slowly. They decide to pursue a path and give it their all to make it work, adjusting what needs to be adjusted to keep on the path towards their goal. Successful people try whatever it takes to succeed and only give up when they have exhausted every avenue possible, this could take over 10,000 tries like Edison did when inventing the light bulb. Some may think this trait of reaching a decision quickly, and change slowly, makes you obstinate, but this is a trait of the successful. Most people that fail are usually easily influenced by other people and give up quickly. People like this will not have desires of their own, but desires that are reflections of those around them. They will just one the latest fad, follow those that have a definite purpose and make it their own, until someone comes along with another “bright” idea. Develop the habit of making YOUR OWN decisions and only change them after careful examination and evaluation. Keep your own counsel and before you act on any advice or hear-say, check it out. Find multiple sources of quality data and make YOU OWN decisions! When you read about the “latest, greatest, fad” check it out. Think it over carefully, is what you are currently doing working, how many “latest fads” have you chased so far, are you reading and trying the methods you currently have, do you have time to try something new while continuing with your current projects? Look at where you are now; DECIDE where you want to be, DECIDE what method you want to use to get there. Then DECIDE to stay the course and change SLOWLY. Only follow a NEW path when the previous one has been exhausted. Remember most people are like you and are seeking ways to become successful and wealthy. Each of them has their own path, dreams and desires don’t make them yours! Find YOUR OWN and follow YOUR OWN path. Make YOUR OWN DECISION and stick to it. If you were to travel from New York to San Francisco and took every side road you found along the way you will NEVER reach your goal, but if you stay the course and follow through then you will succeed.
