New Ways for the New Year!

Whether you are just starting out for the first time and have never made a website before, or you have a fully operational online business, there is something new this year that can help you learn, work, and have more fun online.

Those of you who've been around the net a while know that we use these "web 2.0 properties" to put up information about our websites and businesses to promote them. We use social networks to spread word of mouth and give people a venue to interact with our websites or businesses. We do these things for backlinks to gain SEO value, link juice and general marketing reach. Those who are more the lone wolf freelancer types, do the same things as the groups of people making up businesses or partnerships of people, we're all trying to put our stuff out there, and get something out of it.

What's been the biggest problem when making it all work, everybody getting what they need out of it and learning what they need to know?

Garbage. That's right, garbage has been the biggest problem preventing the people who want to, who are trying, but just haven't got there yet. I'm guessing you've probably seen, or at least heard of the television show "Hoarders", and just how impossible it can be for some of the people on that show to even stay alive let alone function and live comfortably.

What people don't seem to be noticing, is that our hard drives and servers all over the world connected to this Internet, are the biggest hoarders that TV show has ever seen! So many people out there rehashing the same words, slapping some paint on the same files, repeating the same things over and over again in different places... I could go on, but I think you probably get the idea. From keeping extra backups of things, to quazi-spam marketing techniques and even the illegal activity that does happen out there.

What if we all just focused on what we enjoy, what we know, what we like to learn about, what we like to create, teach, perform, complete, test, or whatever skills and areas of work one excels in. Nevermind what Fred or Bob did to make money last year, why don't we all just do something useful and enjoyable? Start paying attention to the needs of the planet and it's people, and working on those needs more, and less on what market trends predict will have the highest profit margin. We might actually have some people learning more, accomplishing more, feeling better about what they do, and solving issues that don't have to do with dividends.
