Default How to Get Traffic to Your Website by Leveraging Your Visitor Stats

Do you have a website or blog?

If you do, then figuring out how to get traffic to your website is probably your number one concern. You might be writing articles, commenting on blogs, submitting to directories and even doing social bookmarking - these are all worthwhile endeavors, but the key to getting targeted traffic starts with the keywords.

Before you can write articles or comment on blogs, you need to know what your visitors are looking for so that you can target your website promotion to those particular keywords. After all, you want to provide the information your visitors are seeking, right?

When you first start your website, using a keyword tool is a great idea to find phrases that people might search for in your niche. But once you start getting traffic, I think there is no better way to figure out what keywords people are searching for than to look at your traffic stats and find out what phrases are being used to find your site.

How To Get Traffic To Your Website Using Your Stats

Your website statistics program will have a section for keywords phrases that your site is being found for. You want to study this section and see which phrases are giving you traffic already.

Pay particular attention to the ones which have been used to find your site multiple times. These are the phrases that real people are typing in and, more importantly, they are the phrases that the search engine "thinks" your page is about.

The next step, is to find out which page is being found for each phrase.

How do you do that? It's easy - simply type the phrase (without quotes) into the search engine! Scroll through the results and see what position your page comes up on. If it's #1, then there's not much more you can do as you are already in the prime spot, however if it is not, then you can start getting more links to that page using the keyword phrase (and variations thereof) and you will see that page rise in the SERPS and along with the rise - you will see more traffic.

If you want to see exactly how to get traffic to your website using this technique - please checkout my video on getting website traffic using the information in your stats.
