1. The content that you used to post elsewhere you should now post to your actual sites. Don't let google or other sites control your online businesses in this way. By adding quality content to your site will increase not only the value of your site should you ever wish to sell it but also will keep Google happy.

2. A lot of sites have been shown to be serious losers in this latest Google update. I would recommend that you reconsider whether you want to add your content to these sites -- at least until the initial shock dies down. My research shows that the link juice from these sites won't help you as much as they used to.

3. There are niches now that are considered very unsavoury by Google and as a result article directories due to the oversaturation in the internet marketplace. If you wish to continue to promote these niches and your sites you don't have a choice but to look at other alternatives to get quality traffic to your sites.

4. Don't ever focus on just one traffic generating method. Google rears it head regularly and every time it does it affects one method greatly -- remember the Squidoo slap of 2009? This one is focusing particularly on article directories.

5. Make sure you diversify your niches. By focusing on just one niche you really make yourself a target for when Google or other sites consider the niche to be "oversaturated".
