In the last few months you must have heard about the “Google Farmer update” that has changed a lot of things for online marketers – of course depending on how you will writing and distributing your content that is.

In this article I wanted to touch on a few points that I believe will help you if you are still trying to make sense of the changes or worst still you have had some or all of your content deleted as the bigger article directories strive to meet Google’s demands.

Here are some things that you should be incorporating into your business plan now if you haven’t already:

* Start building your own sites! – This seems fairly obvious right? I mean you will own all of the content and if the site does well you can then sell it on Flippa for a quick cash injection.

If however you are making a ton of sales from a product/niche and the only way you are doing so is by having hundreds of articles in the article directories at the whim of the owner of the article directory and a push of a button all your content could get deleted!

So start building your own sites!

* Write for PEOPLE – Now this is probably the most valuable tip you will read today or at least one of them! You need to start providing REAL content in your articles just like I am here (I hope!).

With the latest update Google is moving away from people trying to “game” the search engines with 200 word articles that mention the same keyword 100 times.

OK, so not all of them are that bad but you get the picture!

You need to provide real value and as much free and informative content as you can to get the most from your articles.

I know this is going against all of those “top of Google in 1 hour” guides but don’t worry so much about keywords as providing REAL value which leads me on to my next tip.

It’s Not What You Know... – So you may be wondering if you do not rank for keywords and get top of Google how are you going to make money or get traffic?

Well it is all about syndication!

You need to get that article in the right place for your niche – just something to think about...

Sure the article directories are good for backlinks but seek out the authorities in your niche and can you imagine if you were to get one of your articles on their sites?

Reach out to people and get to know your niche and the big players and you will have far more success!
