How To Profit From Email Lists and
Email Marketing - When To Start?

Online entrepreneurs and Internet marketers have been taught the vital
importance of building a list and growing their database with contact
information about their ideal prospects.

The concept is that because it takes repeated exposure to a marketing message
for maximum impact and sales, anything that allows you to get in front of your
audience repeatedly with your message will be helpful in boosting profits.

In the pre-Internet era, this information included a postal address and
telephone number or fax number. Email changed everything, making it easy, cheap
and fast to communicate with prospects online. Email autoresponders set
this process on auto-pilot and gave birth to a huge new industry of email
marketing.

But when should you start profiting from email lists?

Relationships Come First?

There are many myths and fervently held beliefs that email marketers have
spouted as gospel truth to anyone who cares to listen. Just look around any
public forum where groups of marketers gather and you'll see this phenomenon in
full cry.

Unfortunately, most such opinions are echoes of someone else's similar views -
and very little testing and experimentation happens outside tiny circles. And
then, popular opinion drowns out those who voice contrarian advice based on such
testing, leaving newer email marketers to follow the crowd.

One such myth is the "relationships come first" viewpoint. Too many
marketers are taught that it is 'wrong' to try and sell to your email subscribes
before first delivering a lot of value, building up trust and establishing a
position of authority in their mind.

This sequence worked well 10 years ago, when attention spans were longer and
people had email inboxes that were relatively empty. Today, circumstances are
different. And your new email subscriber is at a peak of anticipation and
excitement about hearing from you right at the moment he or she signs
up to your list.

Within 2 or 3 email messages, and a week or two later, this excitement has waned
to a steady level, and often remains there for months or even years. If you
wait until then to start profiting from your list, you'll have to work hard just
to stir them up into a frenzy of enthusiasm about whatever you're selling!

Start Selling Right Away!

An argument made by nay-sayers is that if you hit your new subscribers with a
flurry of sales pitches, they'll unsubscribe from your list. Again, this is
rarely based on testing. With my own list, the cancellation rate is a steady 1%
or less, regardless of the messages being transmitted - over a period of many
years.

What is of more concern is "list apathy". Beyond the first few
emails, subscribers start getting bored with your content. You become a
familiar face in their inbox. You are filed away to "read later" (and maybe
never viewed at all!)

So your best shot at selling often comes within the first few emails,
when the chances are higher of your message being opened and viewed. And let's
face it, nobody expects every subscriber or prospect to buy from you anyway -
whether you start selling now, next month, or next year!

If you start selling right away, you have a chance of making a sale to the
segment of excited prospects who are seeing your message - and are
ready to take action now
.

Then, Is Pitch Fest Galore a Winning Strategy?

Of course not! That's a surefire way to destroy your new list.

The problem is that well-intentioned advise can often be distorted to mean
something completely different from what it is!

Yes, you can start selling to your new subscribers right away... but do it in
a toned-down, non-pushy style, mixed in with delivering value by
way of content or guidance, all of it done in a style and fashion
that communicates that you care more for their well-being than
for your own profit!

Tough challenge? You bet!

You can see how one such process works by following this link and seeing how
it subtly leads you through a 'buying sequence' without ever pushing you hard
to do anything you wouldn't want to. It's in this style that I'm able to
generate upto TWO DOLLARS per new subscriber who opts-in to my email
list - EVEN BEFORE I send out the first email in the series!

You can learn the exact step by step plan Dr.Mani uses to profit from
email lists EVEN AS they are being built by reading "List Building Profits" -
and then turbocharge your email marketing by studying and implementing the
power principles inside "Ezine ANTI Marketing", a course endorsed
by some of the world's biggest email marketing experts.
