Default Inbound Marketing: A guide for newbies

Newbies Guide to Inbound Marketing

You’ve just discovered Inbound Marketing. You’ve seen that it’s possible to make money online, you have read some sales pages, maybe even bought some products, but now you just don’t know where to begin…
Is that you? Never fear because I’m going to give you some practical advice…

One of the first thing that hits most newbies to Inbound marketing is that there are SO many ways to go about making money online, and there are lot’s of different terms and words to learn. It’s all very confusing - there’s pay per click, article marketing, affiliate marketing, upsells, downsells, cross-sells, CPA, PLR, FTP, TUT… ok, I made the last one up but you see what I mean!

The Newbie Guide To Inbound Marketing:

1. Get some free advice before you buy any products
There are a lot of great products out there that can help you, but if you’re new to Inbound marketing it’s probably best to ignore them for a while. It’s far too easy to get caught up in the hype and end up jumping around from product to product without really knowing what you’re doing. Visit a good Inbound marketing forum such as the Warrior Forum and have a read through some threads. Ask some questions too. Trust me, there are some posts on there that are probably more valuable than many products costing hundreds of Dollars.

2. Make a plan and stick to it

One of the main reasons why many people fail online is that they never stick with one idea long enough to actually make it work. It is my belief that many people quit when they are on the brink of being successful. Make a plan and stick to it. Most ways of making money online actually work if you do it in the right way. You probably won’t succeed at the first try but stay with it. Don’t jump around from idea to idea.

1. Don’t get bogged down with information and details

The truth is that when you’re just starting out, you don’t need to know everything (and you won’t). It’s time to worry about how to write good sales copy AFTER you’ve learned how to create a simple website. You can learn how to create an upsell AFTER you’ve mastered how to create an opt-in form. See what I mean? It’s far too easy to get bogged down with little details and never end up doing anything at all. Learn as you go.

2. Just do it

The last point in my Newbies Guide To Inbound Marketing is ‘just do it.’ The majority of people who buy eBooks, reports, and courses never end up doing anything with them. Don’t be one of them – you’ll never make any money with an idea in your head or with an eBook gathering digital dust on your hard drive. Try things – there’s no boss breathing down you neck telling you what you can and can’t do. Just do it. Learn as you go and you’ll succeed eventually.
