One of the most fun ways to make money online is by writing and selling your own ebook. You can become a published author and tell people at parties that you write digital books. How cool is that?

If you're eager to write your own ebook and get it published, here are the 6 steps that will get you on your way:

Step 1 - Decide on your niche topic. This entails keyword research, browsing through magazine racks and searching out the best selling products on Amazon and eBay.

Keyword research can be done simply by going to the Google AdWords Keyword Tool and comparing the search numbers and the competition. Going for a niche topic that you are interested in is recommended if you will be promoting the ebook for a long time.

Step 2 - There are 3 ways to create your ebook - writing it, outsourcing it or licensing it.

Licensing can be done in a variety of ways, from acquiring Resell Rights products. Resell Rights allow the buyer to resell the product and keep all the profits. This is one of the easiest ways to get started without having to write a single word.

Step 3 - For writing your ebook, you can use Microsoft Word to type your content before converting it into PDF format later on. You should start by first creating an outline. This can be the contents page. It gives a guide to the creation of your ebook.

Then all you do is simply take an hour or two a day to write one chapter per day. After a week or two, your ebook will be done. Writing is itself a very detailed subject, so I won't go into that here, but starting by writing short articles is a good way to get a feel of writing content.

Step 4 - Convert the Word document into a PDF format by going to Adobe's website. Adobe allows for 5 free conversions. There are also many other free PDF converters that are available by searching 'pdf converter' on Google.

Step 5 - Write the sales letter and promote the website. You are now a published author and this is the end goal - making sales of your ebook!
