Arrow Is the Internet Marketing Niche Too Competitive? Here is the Real Answer

There are two main views on whether the Internet marketing niche is too competitive. One group says it is, there are too many marketers selling 'make money online' or 'get rich quick' products on the Internet and the market is too saturated. Another group says this market buys products all the time and there are new people coming online everyday, so the market is not saturated.

Here is the thing: how do we define saturation? Is it 2,000 competitors? 1,000 competitors? We don't even know how many buyers there are in total in the niche. Another thing: it's easy to get into profit online, it's not difficult. It really isn't. So if someone is making $1000 from the niche every month, they might think it is not saturated. A person who is making $5000 per month will probably, almost definitely, not think it is too competitive. The point is, someone can make $1000 per month from a so-called saturated niche and another person can make $10000 per month in a so-called uncompetitive niche. It all comes down to the marketer.

This is where I stand in the middle ground. Yes, the Internet marketing niche IS competitive. Is it too competitive? That is the question. It depends on the marketer. The lousiest marketer in the world won't make a single dime even in the 'best conditions'. If the marketer is great, he or she can still make a profit from a so-called saturated market.

Another point of possible contention: If the rate of increasing competition is faster than the rate of new people entering the market, then everybody will start to earn less money in time to come. Every single customer has now more options, so the money is being spread 'thinner' around the place. Only the marketers with the biggest capital and resources will dominate while the smaller marketers are left fighting for scraps unless they do something about it.
