Every now and then, I like to write an article that tells it like it is. People who know me know I don't pussyfoot about when I'm in the mood. So let's talk about work. Nobody likes to work, right? Well, if you want to make a success out of Internet marketing, you'll have to work for it. So what can you do so that it doesn't feel like work? Do something you love.

As the article title states, an hour of action is worth a week of theory. I love what I do because it allows me to stay out of a day job and live a life of freedom. That's my core motivation. What's yours? Do you have a motivation other than 'making money'? Everyone wants to make money, but most people are still stuck at their jobs, so it's not exactly a strong motivation.

Apart from having a powerful motivation, you need to tell yourself that you are going to spend the majority of your time on taking action instead of learning. A solid rule of thumb is this: spend 80% of your time taking action and 20% of your time learning. Now, in probably your first month online, you can perhaps spend 80% of your time learning because you know nothing about setting up a website and stuff like that. But once you develop a few skills, it is time to take more action.

And if all else fails, spend the majority of your time marketing. It doesn't matter if you don't have a product now. Start writing articles. Promote an affiliate product. Start posting on forums with a signature box that has a link to your affiliate product. Start building your list. You don't have to get it perfect, just get it going.
