There are a lot of myths in Internet marketing. One of the most common is that Internet marketing is easy. Well, I would say that making money online is simple, but not easy. There is a fundamental difference there. Simple means you don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure it all out, but it's not easy. This means you have to actually create a plan and work on it on a daily basis.

That's why I like to say that making money online is not about getting rich quick, it's about getting rich slow. You see, an online business, on it's first day of business, is already in an advantageous position compared to an offline business. It's costs are extremely low, and this means anyone can take it up. But the fact that there is a low barrier to entry, this means that opportunists, and not serious business owners, tend to enter the business, which leads to a high failure rate. The answer to getting rich slow online is not to be an opportunist, but to be a business creator.

If you're looking to make just a few hundred extra bucks online, then this article will definitely not resonate with you. Very likely you're looking for someone to hand hold you and you don't really want to build a long-term business. Well, in my view, a long-term business is the best way to make even that few hundred bucks over the long-term. And long-term is the key word here. If you want to make money over the long haul, you need a solid business foundation. And that comes with practice and a skill in your craft that develops over time.

If you're complaining that you can't build a website and you can't figure it out, then maybe all you're looking at are the dollar signs and not the process. You don't want to learn the process; you just want the money. In that case, I would advise buying a lottery ticket. But if you want to build a real online business, then do it methodically, think like a business strategist, so to speak. Think like an entrepreneur, and things will start to happen and you will feel empowered.
