Arrow Keyword Research Tools Showdown: KC vs MS

While most of you have probably heard about Market Samurai, not many people have discovered Keyword Country yet. I use both keyword research tools myself, so I thought I would help others by comparing the two SEO research tools.

Market Samurai

One of the things I dislike the most about Market Samurai is how slow it can be when you are dealing with a large keyword list. I have a relatively new and speedy computer, but the Adobe Air that it is based on feels "klunky" sometimes.

Having said that, when it does run it delivers great information that makes it easier to do common SEO tasks. Here is a look at some of the major features of Market Samurai.

  • Keyword Research - This is the main focus of this software and it does it well - if a bit slowly. Once you get the hang of the user interface, you're going to be astounded by the data you're able to quickly see.
  • Rank Tracking - There are free tools to figure out and record your ranking for various keywords in the SERPs, but Market Samurai makes it easy to see whether your ranking are going up or slipping for a variety of keywords.
  • Competitor Analysis - Being able to spy on your competitors is a good thing and Market Samurai makes it simple to get the information you need to compete - legally.
  • Monetization - To be honest, I haven't used this section much yet, but it's there.
  • Promotion - Find high quality (and high PR) backlink opportunities.

Keyword Country

I discovered Keyword Country by chance, but I've been in love with it since I first fired it up. While it can be a bit buggy at times, it is a pretty rock solid application that handles a LOT of work. From pure keyword research to scoping out competitors backlinks (and Adwords ads), this software does quite a bit.

While some may balk at the monthly price, look at it this way. If you pay the $99/quarter price, you are paying $33 a month, which is a little over a dollar a day. One way you can justify the cost is if you run reports for others and charge them. If you just sell one "keyword report" every month for $35, the software has paid for itself! With Warrior Forum and other marketing forums, selling high quality information isn't that difficult.

  • Keyword Research - This is where Keyword Country really shines. Gathering data from multiple sources, it is easy to get huge lists of keywords and then sort them by KEI index or profitability.
  • Competitive Analysis - From backlinks to what ads they are running, Keyword Country can give you the information you need to know about your competition so that you can rank better.
  • Content Spinner - This is a new feature that I haven't played with much yet, but that's another cool thing about KC - they are always adding to the program. Their support is really good too.
  • Article Submitter - While it is not the greatest article submitter, there is one built-in. Keyword Country really shines at keyword research, but they have been steadily adding other features to Keyword Country, truly making it an all in one SEO tool.

And this hasn't even scratched the surface of what Keyword Country can do. There is a content builder - you have to see it for yourself - as well as other small tools that can make your SEO life easier. You really have to check out the free trial version at least.

Market Samurai or Keyword Country

If you are serious about SEO and making money online, you really need to consider investing in Keyword Country. If you want to save a bit of money with a one-time fee, go with Market Samurai, but sometimes spending the extra money is worth it in more ways than one.
