Default EBook Writing Tips

There are many reasons why most internet marketers write e-books. E-books are very useful tools to get people to get into mailing lists and give customers an incentive to revisit their site and hopefully buy a product.

If you are thinking of writing an e-book to build your mailing list or to help increase traffic onto your site, here are some tips.

Formatting your e-book

A simple word document (whether Microsoft Word or an Open Office document) makes a perfectly adequate e-book. However, there are people who prefer to have their e-book as a PDF document. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat, there are many free software packages available on the internet that can help you convert your word files into PDF files. There are even sites that do the conversion online so you do not need to download and install any software on your computer.

Use Photos

Photos make e-books more attractive. Making use of a photo to create a cover for an e-book is a good way to attract readers. A good photo on the cover also makes your e-book easier to sell if you are selling it. You can use photos that you have taken yourself or use stock images. If you are using photos available on the internet, just make sure you use photos that are free to use and are not copyrighted.

Have Quality Content

E-books need to have quality content so that people will be encouraged to buy it. Even it is for free, you would do well to have an e-book with good content that a customer will find useful or will address a problem he or she may have.
Split up the contents of your e-book by subject matter. Split it up into chapters and split the chapters into mini-chapters. This makes your e-book easier to read.

Table of Contents

One way of giving your e-book a professional feel is by having a table of contents. It helps the reader find out more about the contents of the e-book.

Other Useful Tips

Use a minimum font size of 11 or 12 so that your e-book will be easy to read.
Use larger fonts for headings and any subheadings so that the e-book will be easy to scan
