There are people who blog as a living and have very successful blogging careers. If you would like to emulate them and be a professional blogger, there are some factors that you need to consider before taking the plunge.
First of all, you need to find out if there is really any money to be made.

Although there are truly pro-bloggers out there making some good money, there are more who blog for free. That does not mean that there is no way to make money blogging, it simply means that paid blogging work can be hard to come by.

Most of the professional blogging jobs check your background and see how long you have been a blogger and how successful you are at it. They will also check if you are or have been a copywriter or journalist. Without any of those, you may be hard-pressed to find a job as a pro-blogger.

The demand for professional bloggers is slowly growing. There are many site managers who hire bloggers to write posts to increase their exposure and improve their site’s rankings. They also hire bloggers to write posts that link to their sites. Most of them will have stipulations about how the blog posts should be written and what they should be about. There may be times when the stipulations give you hardly any room to be creative.

There are also paid blogging opportunities where bloggers are paid by companies to promote products and services on the personal site or to have the products and services promoted in forums or reviewed in the many review sites. These jobs can cover all sorts of topics. There are always people somewhere in the world who are ready to buy content and the key is to be able to find them, convince them you are the best person for the job, and give them what they want.

There are also large companies that pay professional bloggers to post on their company blogs or post updates. This means that the blogger needs to take any information that has been given by the company, write about it using the voice of the company, and make it interesting to read.

If you feel that you can do all these things, know about the intricacies of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and love to write, then you can make money and turn your blogging into a profession.
