Like other successful Internet marketers, I myself am using article marketing as one of my main traffic producing techniques. Why am I a big fan of articles? Because they cost nothing to produce (unless I hire a freelancer to write them) and they are highly effective in generating targeted leads. Articles work tirelessly for me day in and day out to produce traffic for me.

Here is how you can create your own self-reliant article marketing machine:

1. Know your market before you start writing any articles. You need to know the demographics and psychographics of your target audience. You need to know their wants, problems, needs, desires and what makes them tick. You will need to study what products they buy in the market. Having this information at your fingertips enables you to write more productive and informative articles.

2. Write articles that relate to your offer. If you are promoting a squeeze page that leads prospects into a dog grooming newsletter, you don't want to suddenly write about other animals in your articles. Only write about dogs and dog grooming so that your articles are super targeted.

3. Hire freelancers to write your articles. If you don't want to write your own articles, this is a great route, but it does cost money. Here is the thing: what is your time worth? If your strengths are in other areas, then it is a far better use of your time to work on those areas while letting your freelancers concentrate on writing your articles. Pay a little more and you can have them even submit articles on your behalf.

That's what I call a self-reliant marketing machine.
