Inbound links are links that are located in other sites that point towards your site. They used to be a navigation tool but have now become an important element in link popularity, as well as SEO.

Today, most search engines consider inbound links as criteria for rankings. There are many ways to get links to your sites and some of the more popular ones are as follows:

1. Article writing
Writing original and quality articles that are submitted to the more popular article directories can help give your inbound links. You can write articles that are related to the products or services offered in your website or blog. Social bookmarking sites are very easy to use. All you need to do is register or sign-up and submit links. The links are then categorized by keywords. The bookmarks are then visible to everyone who is a member of the social bookmarking site and this helps generate traffic.

4. Link Exchange
Another way to get inbound links is to have a link exchange with another website. This means that a link to your site will be available of the other person’s website while a link to his or her site will appear on your site.

5. Blogs
Blogs are a very popular way to get links to websites. You can always start a blog and include links to your website within the blog posts.
You can also start commenting on other blogs and leaving a link to your website within your comments. Just make sure that your comments are related to the blog post you are commenting on and that your link is not seen as a self-promotional tool.
