Sometimes affiliate marketing can seem unfair. You've got the super affiliates with the big lists that can make thousands in a single mailing. It's hard enough as it is, so why do people make things harder for themselves by not having a creative thought? Many merchants provide sample ads that affiliates can use, and many just simply swipe and paste these ads for their own promotions. It is little surprise that most don't make any money.

Why do merchants provide these ads then if he knows everyone is going to use it? Well he knows that most affiliates simply couldn't be bothered to write their own ads. It seems like too much trouble. So he gives them everything they need to promote. What he is really hoping for is for a whole bunch of affiliates to promote. If a good portion of affiliates make at least one sale, that's a ton of sales for him. He gets a lot of profits for very little work, while it is the opposite for most affiliates - they get very little profits for a lot of work.

New affiliates are not the only ones guilty of simply copying and pasting ads from the merchant's affiliate tools area. Many so-called experienced marketers are guilty of it too. Sure, some do make a ton of sales from canned ads, but I will bet my last dollar that those who make the most sales are those who use original ads. I know, because I'm one of them.

I'm sure if you have been on many Internet marketing newsletter lists, you would have seen the same ads being sent by different marketers promoting the same product. Not really something you like right? So change up the ads you are given, write a better subject line, a better headline or a better call-to-action. At least take some action to make the ad you are given better.

Your commissions will be far bigger because of it.
