There are generally two kinds of strategies to utilize article marketing to build your online business. In this article, I'm going to talk about these two strategies and how you can use them to grow your business.

First off. Let's look at the two strategies in general:

1. Write a high number of quality articles and submit them to only the best, most high-trafficked article directories.

2. Write a low number of articles and submit them to hundreds of directories around the web.

Of course, you can also write a high number of articles and submit them to hundreds of directories, but chances are time will not permit this. So you've got to choose between one of the two main strategies.

The first strategy generally gets you lots of direct traffic from the directories themselves and also from the search engines when you optimize your articles properly with keywords.

The second strategy is generally used by link builders who want higher search engine rankings for their site. You see, by submitting their articles to hundreds of directories, they get hundreds and thousands of incoming links to their site, resulting in increased search engine rankings! So the main goal with this strategy is to build incoming links for this purpose - and the side benefits are that you also get traffic.

I use the first strategy in my business because what I'm looking for is direct traffic and search engine rankings for my articles, not for my website. Article directories, especially the best ones, get lots of traffic, so a good idea is to write more articles to gain a greater market share of the traffic.
