Email marketing is both an art and a science. You need to master the art of writing copy that converts and you need to know the science between what makes people buy. One of the key skills to master when it comes to email marketing is timing your emails. Just like timing when to buy and sell a stock, you need to know when to send and when to hold off. Here are some guidelines that you can adhere to (I follow these guidelines myself with a lot of success): 1. For Low-Cost Products - Typically you will want to go with a short email for low-cost products since customers require less information when the investment is lower. You can send emails for these in the morning. Tuesday and Friday mornings work best. 2. For High-Ticket Products - Prospects usually require more information when the investment is higher, as is the case with high-ticket products. Make your email longer and more informative. Nighttime is the best time to send such emails, when there is less email clutter from other newsletter publishers. Tuesday nights, Thursday night and Friday nights are good times to send. 3. Free Products/Surveys - For such emails, you will want to send them out at times when your prospects have time to consume the information or give you a response to your survey.
