Article marketing for the purpose of getting traffic is a powerful weapon for online marketing. For all intents and purposes, people surf online for one thing - to get information. Most people are just surfing around on the web and don't plan to buy anything.

However, with articles, something special happens. When people like your information and they support what you have to say, they will usually click on the link in your resource box and visit your website. When someone like that comes to your website, they are very responsive because they have just received quality information from you.

This process gives you a very high quality visitor, and turns surfers into subscribers and then customers. Get people to become raving fans of your information, and they will buy your products fast and often.

So how do you do article marketing? Here is the process in a nutshell:

1. Brainstorm topics to write about then write articles that provide solutions to problems. What are the main problems of your targeted prospect? Provide the solutions in your article.

2. Include a link to your web page in your bio box. Call your reader to action and provide a strong benefit for him or her to click through on your link and take the desired action (opt-in to your list, buy your product etc). Then submit your articles to the top trafficked article directories.

That's the entire process, really. Always remember that you have to take that first step and write that first article to get it going!
