Web Traffic Exposed - Does Paid Traffic Work Better Than Free Traffic?

Selling web traffic schemes is particularly popular today, because people like business owners need traffic to their websites to keep their business alive. But many of these schemes are scams that are out to take your money and not reward you for it. In fact, avoid any site that screams 'Guaranteed Traffic!' like the plague.

So the question is - does paid traffic work better than free traffic? It really depends on the source you are using! Pay per click advertising and some ezine advertising locations can work well with good ad copy and positioning. Similarly, social marketing ads, pay per action leads, and pay per view advertising are other methods to get paid traffic effectively if done right.

Off the free traffic generation methods, article marketing, forums, blogs, SEO and email marketing all work very well! And there's viral marketing too. The downside with viral marketing though, is that you are not entirely in control of the process, since it is depending on word of mouth to get traffic.

If I were to boil down effective web traffic into the most productive methods, then I would suggest concentrating on just these few sources: pay per click advertising (Google Adwords, Yahoo, MSN Adcenter), article marketing, email marketing and blogs.

Those 4 methods are the most effective methods for getting qualified traffic that I know of. I know because I have spent countless of hours generating traffic and those methods produce for me day in and day out without fail. As you can see, three of those methods are free methods, and one is paid (pay per click), but PPC can drive you the most amount of traffic with the least amount of effort.
