If you want to streak ahead of your competition, having a strategy and a big picture of where you want to go is extremely important. You can't just work daily on your Internet business without a clear picture of where you want to go (i.e. no business plan). Success doesn't happen like that.

It's very easy to be distracted online with tons of numerous distractions like email, forums, YouTube and even Twitter. I say, have self-control. That's very important. If you can't have control over yourself, your business will never thrive.

So you need to create a daily schedule of what you are going to do each day. Before you head to bed or before you start your day, plan what you are going to do, and then do it. I like to create a list of activities and prioritize them from 1 to 3, with 1 being most important. This way, you don't waste time.

Another important thing to take note of is your action to learning ratio. You need to spend more time taking action than on learning. Yes, information is important but if you don't take action on it, you're not going to make money! It's taking action on your business that creates profitable results.

So right now if you're spending say a few hours a day reading but only an hour on taking action, you want to reverse that and actually do the opposite. Spend a few hours taking action and only an hour on learning. That's how your business will grow faster and streak ahead of the competition!
