In the beginning, I used to be very particular about inserting as many relevant keywords as possible into my articles. Since then, I've not been as crazy about keyword density in my article marketing as before. And there's a good reason why. You'll find about it later on in this article.

A few years ago, keyword density was very important if you wanted to achieve good search engine rankings. It is less so now. Yet many marketers continue to tell you that you should have a keyword density of a certain percentage if you wanted online success.

Nowadays, keyword density is less important than relevance. How relevant are your articles in solving people's problems? That is the real question here. If you write articles that focus on solving people's problems, you will get the traffic you will ever need.

So how do you find out what people's problems are? You ask them. You go to forums and post a new thread asking what people's greatest challenges are, then write articles that focus on solutions for those challenges. Or if you have mailing list, better still. Email them and ask them about their burning questions, then create articles and reports that you can send to them for free or create a low-cost report and sell it to them.

So don't just write articles that focus on keywords - write articles that solve problems. That's how you can create 'link bait' - articles that people link to and drive traffic to on your behalf because the content is just so good.
