More and more people are buying traffic online today, because traffic is the lifeblood of any Internet business that wants to succeed. Simply, you can't live without traffic online if you want your business to succeed. Here's the honest truth, though: many paid traffic sources on the Internet are duds and will suck you of your money instead of generating profits for you.

One of my very first activities in generating traffic was buying one of those 'guaranteed traffic' activities. The premise sounded good. Pay a fee, and you will get guaranteed visitors. It turned out that the visitors were highly untargeted. I received lots of traffic, but most of it was useless.

One of the paid traffic generation strategies I use today is pay per click marketing. It works well for generating traffic and is easily scalable. You can easily get 100 targeted visitors tomorrow with the right keywords and ad copy. But the cost for every visitor is getting increasingly high with pay per click advertising.

Of the traffic generation methods that I use, the one that I respect the most and get the most results out of is article marketing. Yes, there is sweat equity involved and you will have to put in the work, at least a few hours a week if not more. But it works very well for generating targeted traffic. If you write 2 articles per day for a month, you will have 60 articles all out there driving traffic for your business. Do this for a year and you will have more than 700 articles driving traffic for you round the clock.
