In the articles I have written, I have consistently stressed that I use articles mainly to get traffic, and also get massive amounts of traffic from pay per click advertising and joint venture marketing. What about your business? Which traffic generation strategy should you concentrate on?

In all honesty, you will only learn this by testing yourself. Now, I can't see anyone failing if they just consistently submit quality, relevant articles to article directories to direct traffic to their sites. But it might not be suitable for you. For some reason, maybe you don't want to submit articles. You don't want to write, or you don't want to outsource the articles. In that case, you will have to consider other traffic generation avenues.

How I began finding out what my most effective traffic generation sources were is by testing. I literally put ads out there in different places. I submitted articles as well and I tracked everything and discovered that articles were generating the bulk of traffic and getting the most subscribers for me, no matter what niche I was operating in. No wonder why so many marketers swear by article marketing!

The trouble is most marketers use articles for affiliate sales. While that can be immensely profitable, the best way to really eke out every cent from articles is to build a list. Build a list of subscribers, that's an asset you will have for years or even for life. And you can then generate traffic at will from that point on, once you have a huge list and continue to grow it.
