| Should You Use Paid Traffic or SEO for ClickBank? Some affiliate use paid traffic method while others use SEO. Should you pay for traffic or should you use organic search engine optimization to bring people to your websites? Both strategies very effective for some people and there are definitely affiliates earning five figures a month using both strategies. Here are the advantages and disadvantages of each method. At the end of the day, it's a matter of weighing the pros and cons of each and deciding for yourself how you want to run your business. ==> The Pros and Cons of Paid Traffic Perhaps the biggest benefit of paid traffic is the speed of its feedback cycle. If you come up with a good idea, you can whip up a campaign in a day and within just a few days know whether or not your idea is profitable. There's no waiting for authority, for backlinks, for pagerank or anything like that. It's instant. You can also make a lot of money very quickly. If you hit a winning campaign or a winning strategy and scale it up, you can quickly go from zero income to several thousand a month in just a few weeks. The bottom line is that, paid traffic is just much, much faster than SEO. The downside however is that the traffic often doesn't last as long as SEO. Others can come in and outbid you, or Google can change their policies and completely shut down your campaign. In 2009, AdWords banned over 30,000 affiliates over the course of 4 months due to a change of policy. The other downside is that the chances of losing money in the beginning are very high. To get into paid traffic, you should have at least $500 to $1,000 that you'd feel comfortable losing. That'll allow you to test different products, ads and strategies without worrying about dipping into paying-the-bills money. ==> The Pros and Cons of SEO SEO is a completely different game than search traffic. For one, it takes a long time. A successful site might take anywhere from a month to six months to rank for significant keywords. The feedback cycles are slow. You could come up with an idea that you think is great and test it out - But you won't know for 3 months whether you were right or wrong. To do well in SEO, you have to have a very long attention span. You need to be able to start projects and see them through to completion over a number of months. SEO’s major advantage is the consistency of the traffic. Once you're ranked, assuming you're doing whitehat SEO, you'll likely have an income source for many years to come. You've built a real asset. Your site won't disappear overnight, and most likely your traffic won't either. The SEO method is as close as you can get to passive income online. PPC is very fast but very active income. It depends on your particular situation which option to choose. The decision is completely up to you. The two types of traffic tend to appeal to two very different kinds of people.
