The way to create a competition vacuum with list building is to build a relationship with your subscribers. Build a relationship that is so strong, your subscribers look forward to your emails. They open them. They click on your links and they buy your products. If your emails are one of the few emails your subscribers read, you are essentially creating a competition vacuum between you and the majority of your competitors.

When a person visits a sales page and for the first time, he is not likely to buy. Out of 100 visitors, perhaps 2 to 4 will buy your product. That's because you don't have a relationship with them. But if you put up a squeeze page as the entry page, you can easily get 40% or more people to opt-in to your list. Then you can build the relationship from there, and only from then on, do you promote your products. This will give you far greater returns in the long run. And now you have a subscriber base that you can promote to at anytime!

People buy from others they know and like. By building a list, you are creating the opportunity to build a relationship with thousands of people. This will give you massive 'power' in your market because you now have mind share and you have promotional clout.

Building a list is not just about creating a database of names. It's about catering to the needs of people, interacting with them and providing them with solutions that will help them do something better or faster. Most of all, it is about building relationships. That's what will bring you profits.
