There are countless traffic generation strategies online that it is easy to get lost and confused about what works and what plain bombs. The end result you want to get is targeted traffic. All other traffic is likely the result of low return on investment activities, such as surfing traffic exchanges or buying leads or so-called 'guaranteed traffic'.

I don't say this to brag, but my websites get unique hundreds of visitors daily, so I do know a thing or two about generating targeted traffic. I concentrate mainly on just a few strategies to drive traffic to my web pages. Here are the few main customer acquisition strategies I concentrate on to get such prolific visitor numbers:

1. Article Marketing. Every month, without fail, I write and outsource hundreds of articles to submit to the article directories. Why do I do it? Because the articles I have are consistently generating traffic. The more fuel I add to the fire, so to speak, the bigger my traffic grows.

2. Joint Venture Marketing. I form joint ventures with other marketers in my niche and the result is bigger lists and huge flows of traffic on the days when cross-promotions are carried out. This is a very prolific way to drive traffic, at no cost!

3. Google AdWords. Every online business should have Google AdWords as part of their marketing arsenal. The downside is that mastering AdWords requires a steep learning curve, but once you master it, the kind of traffic you get can be extremely targeted if you go after the right keywords.
