A squeeze page is one of the most important parts of an information publishing business. It acts as a center for building a list, to get leads for your business. It's the 'entry point' of your entire operation. A good squeeze page will be typically very direct response driven.

Typically, what you will have is an attention-pulling headline and a few benefit-filled bullet points to get visitors interested in your free offer. Then you'd have the opt-in form where you call visitors to action and get them to subscribe to your list by entering their name and email address. You can also have a graphic of your newsletter or your free ebook, whatever incentive you are giving away as an ethical 'bribe'.

It's very important that your squeeze page be neat. The best squeeze pages tend to have lots of white space. You can test other colors like black or grey, but personally I've had the best results using a page with a white background.

It's also important that you do not have too many outgoing links on your page. The only links you should have are the Submit button on your opt-in form and to your legal disclaimers at the bottom of the page. And perhaps a contact button or a link to your support desk. That's all you should really have. The idea is that for the visitor to get more information from you, they have to opt in to your list. It also benefits them because you can follow up with them by sending them great information and recommending them solid products.
