If you want to build a 5-star business from scratch, what you need to do is get everything in order. Just like a car will not operate with one wheel missing or with brakes not working, you need everything in your Internet business to be working fine. You need the traffic, you need conversions, you need a list, you need products etc.

Sometimes we get so caught up in one activity (maybe traffic generation or something else) that we forget all the other aspects that make an Internet business tick. You don't want that to happen to you. You need all aspects of your business working in fine order to keep that profit-generating machine working.

If you're good in just activity (for example, making pretty websites), but poor in generating traffic and poor in getting conversions, you are not going to go very far. Conversely, if you know how to get traffic but don't know how to convert that traffic, you are also wasting a lot of time and money in generating that traffic since you can't convert them into customers.

That's why you need to be sort of an all-rounder online when you first start off. You need to know where and how to get visitors, how to write persuasive ad copy and how to create or promote products that people in your market will buy. If you don't have any one of these skills or you can't outsource it, the wheels will fall off, so to speak. So get out there and be good at these skills now.
