First of all, what exactly is a squeeze page? It is quite basically a web page that has a few simple sentences (a headline, bullet points, a call-to-action etc) promoting the opt-in form. Your goal with a squeeze page is to simply get subscribers to your email newsletter.

The only way for a visitor to advance from such a page is to opt-in to your form. The alternative is to leave the page. Typical industry averages for opt-in rates are 20% to 30%. You can easily get 40% or more with a strong offer. Why does a squeeze page work so well in building a huge profitable list?

Building a list gives you 'influence' over your traffic. You can turn one visitor into dozens of repeat visits to your websites and offers. And a purely driven opt-in page is the best way to build a list because it only gives two options - leave or opt-in!

If you get 50 visitors a day to your sales page, your traffic will remain constant. There will be no increase. However if you build a list, you will be able to send some of them to your sales page after they opt-in. But after a while, the fun starts.

If you are building a list steadily, after a few months you will have a huge list in the thousands. Now, when you send any mailing out to this list with a link to your websites or offers, you will get hundreds of visitors streaming in right away. This is on top of the 50 visitors you are getting each day on average! So your traffic just grows and grows to the point of being unstoppable.
