1) Send over a free gift to your list

One way to get great response from an old, creaking mailing list and bring it to live again is to send them a free gift. Make this gift so full of value and so full of meaty information that your subscribers will love you for it and look forward to receiving your next email!

2) Send them a survey

Another way to do it is to send your subscribers a simple survey, either through a simple email or by pointing to a link to a survey you created on Survey Monkey, or some other survey service website. Ask them what their greatest challenge is or what their most burning question is.

Apologize for not mailing for a long time and announce that you are back in action! Doing this typically will get you dozens of responses if you have a few thousand subscribers or at least tens of responses from a small list. You see, doing this allows to build a relationship with your old list again. They will see you as a helpful marketer in the midst of product mongers who are out to sell you products.
