Post Pseudo Marketers

Over the years I have bought many products, probably not unlike yourself. Some have been really good and some not as good and some I just got a refund. But the most attractive to me were those that offered some type of support.

I mean, most say if you have questions, let me know and things like that. That's all well and good but some give the impression they are really going to be there for you, like a mentor.

A well intentioned marketer is like my doctor. When I first started going to my doctor she would call to see how we were feeling or to see if the medicine worked. But then her practice grew and grew and now there are 3 doctors, maybe 4 doctors. She doesn't call anymore.

A well intentioned marketer who really wants to help is eventually going to become inundated with emails and requests. It will become nearly impossible to assist all those who need assisting.

I am amazed at some of the more prominent marketers that seem to be able to still help when they are getting 100s of emails each day.

You can spend a lot of money on this product and that, 37 here, 99 there. You will get there if you are not careful and it will add up to thousands; some people spend tens of thousands.

Don't do it. Find yourself a real mentor. Its going to cost a bit up front but in the long run it will save you money. Make sure you know exactly what you are getting for your dollar. Are these one on one sessions or a quick answer email?

Ideally a referral is best. When you take a trip in uncharted territory you need a guide as well as a leader. Someone who has been there and has done the same thing you are looking to do. This is what you want and need in a mentor.

Good luck and best wishes,

Dave
