In my recent "Product Developers Have More Fun - 7 Tips To Product Creation" article one of the tips was to KISS (keep it simple stupid). Today I will delve more into that exact topic and make sure the point comes across clearly. Nothing can hamper the product creation process like overcomplicating matters.

What usually happens when I get an idea for a product is that I spend far too much time developing the idea. It evolves with myriads of addons and side projects that would be awesome additions to the original project. Before long I'm dealing with a home study course that will take weeks to create.

If something takes weeks to do it isn't going to happen. Fact!

Well, for me at least it's a fact.

So, what do you (I) do to overcome that problem?

It's a simple matter of forcing yourself to keeping things simple. The best way to do that is to solve only one problem in your product. If you want to cover other problems as well then you should consider that alternate product ideas.

That is a model with a huge number of advantages. First of all, it increases the speed at which you can finish your product. Speed is a critical factor as time to market, the time from you conceive the idea to the time the product is available to the public, is everything!

Another important advantage in focusing on only one problem in each product is that you get to create more products. More products allow you to put more "Buy Now" buttons on the Internet. If you're in doubt the number of "Buy Now" buttons you have online is a huge influence on your income.

OK. So, you only focus on one thing, but then go into very great detail about that one thing. Here it is important that we remember the 80-20 rule. You should go into as much detail as needed to solve the buyers problem and make him happy about his purchase, but no more than that!

A good friend of mine often says: Do as much as you need to, but no more than you have to."

I tend to agree. If you have done enough to solve the problem and make your buyer happy, then you have done all that you need to do.

Stop there and move on to the next product. That is a much better way to spend your time. And it is a better solution for your customer as well! He gets the solution he needs when he needs it at an affordable price.

The big point I want to get across is simply that product developers should KISS more. If you are a product developer who wants to KISS the Instant Info-Product method is what you need. Get it at a $10 discount right now!
