How to Edit and Rewrite PLR to Add Your Personal Style

When I first started blogging, I had never heard of PLR articles. I purchased my first PLR bundle from Nicole Dean’s Easy PLR. Easy PLR, unlike other PLR providers, limit the amount of bundles they sell on a particular subject. They also provide quality articles you can rewrite or use to for brainstorming a topic.

I subscribed to Nicole Dean’s newsletter and I have been referred to many PLR providers, that sell limited quantities of quality PLR on numerous niche topics.

My favorite PLR providers are:

Nicole Dean’s Easy PLR, IncomeCpr and Just Add Sweat
Alice Seba and Mila Sidman’s All PLRContent and DIY PLR
Melissa’s Ingold’s Special Report Club
Ronne Nijmeh’s PLRME
Peggy Baron’s All Star PLR and My Niche PLR

All the PLR I buy, I edit or rewrite it, so I can add my personal touch. It is very easy to do and creates a one of a kind article for your blog.

How to Rewrite and Edit PLR

Since PLR is sold by many web publishers, you need to make changes to generate original content in the eyes of the search engine. PLR or Private Label Rights content is prewritten content that you can buy. It is more affordable than hiring a ghost writer. It is less time-consuming than trying to write an article from scratch. But in order address your particular audience, you should edit and personalize your PLR for optimum results. Here are six awesome ways to personalize your PLR quickly.

1. Add your voice and style by editing the subheadings.

The first and perhaps most important way you can change your PLR is to edit the headline and subheadings to match your voice and style. For example, 10 Tips to Organize Your Garage can become “10 Ways to Remove Clutter From Your Garage.” Changing headings and subheadings is pretty straight forward.

You can often take the first sentence of the next paragraph and make a subheading right from that by asking a question. For example, the first sentence of this article is PLR or Private Label Rights content is prewritten content that you can buy. To create a subheading from this you might write, “What is PLR?”

2. Edit the keywords

General keywords are used in most PLR articles. You can add more unique or specific keywords related to your niche. Review each PLR article and see where you can add your keywords naturally. Often you can simply do a search and replace. For example, if the keywords in the PLR piece are “Organizing Tips” and you want to change it to “Remove Clutter Tips” it’s a quick change.

3. Include personal or business related stories

People love personal stories and they make you more genuine. Start the article with a story. You might share a personal story or a story about a client or customer. You can also create a fictional story to lead into the purpose of the article. For example, in this article you might start with a story about a website owner who purchased 100 PLR articles, published them all on his site and didn’t receive the traffic he expected. And then compare it to a website owner who purchased the same 100 articles, personalized them and grew her traffic by 10%. Stories help the reader relate to your content.

4. Remember to included a personal example or two.

Readers expect blog posts to be more personal and it’s a great way to modify your PLR. Sharing a personal example is great when you’re publishing PLR on your blog..

5. Add images

Add a photo, graph or chart to the PLR content to add visual interest. This is particularly important if you normally add images to original content you write.

6. Edit the formatting to be compatible with your site’s content

Editing the formatting of an article is a simple way to personalize it. For instance, if the PLR is a numbered list, you can change it to be in paragraph form. Change each number to a subheading.

Adding your voice and style to PLR is easy and fast. If you choose, you can use a virtual assistant to do it for you. By personalizing your PLR, you are providing your readers with unique and valuable content and ensuring your blog’s future success.
