One of the most important things you can do in your Internet business is to track each and every one of your traffic sources. If you have a traffic source from article marketing and another one from banner ads, you will want to tracking links for both so you can determine how effective they are in generating leads or sales for you.

There are two ways to discover your web traffic goldmine. You can do it the 'ghetto' way, and that is setting up separate web pages for each traffic source. That will take time but it is very effective and there is very little room for error in determining where your leads and your buyers are coming from. Sometimes, tracking programs are not reliable that way.

The other way, of course is to use a tracking script like AdTrackz, Google Analytics of Statcounter. Google Analytics is the most advance of the three, and it's free. You can track your conversions, where your leads are coming from, and such. The only downside is that you can only use it together with Adwords.

I just want to discuss the process behind how you are going to discover your best traffic sources. It sounds crazy, but this is how I did it: I took 10-15 traffic sources, and went full-scale on all of them for a week, using different tracking links for each. After a week, I determined which traffic source was bringing me the most traffic. The answer in my case was article marketing. It might be different for your business. You've got to do your own testing to figure out which source is your goldmine.
