Many people say they ignore tons of email in their inbox and email marketing no longer works. I could not disagree any more or my veins might just pop! I ignore tons of email too, but I pay attention to the 20%-30% that catch my attention and 'forces' me to open them.

There are various reasons why I open an email:

1. Outrageous/benefit-driven subject line

2. Trusted source with authority in the market

3. Provides value

If you provide insane value in the beginning of the relationship, you are bound to get higher open rates because people remember you and will open your emails further down the road.

You can provide crazy value at the start and people will still be opening your emails years down the road because they remember the value you provided.

And you need to constantly remember them of this value by giving them free gifts, free reports, awesome products etc.

Above all, the subject line and your name will determine how well your emails do. Spend lots of time crafting your subject line. Spend like 80% of your time on that and your emails will get the desired result.

Create a swipe file and read up on copywriting. Subscribe to tons of lists and stay subscribed to those that appeal or give value. Even stay subscribed to those that constantly promote products. Sometimes you can learn a thing or two about copywriting form them. Become a copywriting maven. Copywriting skills and traffic generation will make the biggest difference in your email marketing.
