There are two dangers in writing an informative article: knowing too much and knowing too little about the subject. In the former, you may unload way too many specific details, losing the interest of the general reader. But if you really don't know the subject, an intelligent reader will catch on pretty soon.

Don't be afraid to ask people to share your articles and site information. You can put a quick blurb about this right on your own page, even at the end of every article. A call to action requesting that information be shared on sites like Facebook and Twitter can go far toward increasing traffic to your site.

Being suspenseful in an article is okay if you're John Grisham, but it's not okay if you're a basic article marketer whose goal is to drive traffic to a website. Take it easy on writing a thriller. An article doesn't have to be mysterious or contain plot twists in order to make it entertaining to a reader.

Make sure you put the right things in your author resource box. This box holds almost as much as importance as your attention-grabbing titles. First, add your name or pen name. Second, add a link (that works) to the product page you want the reader to see. Third, write a short, one-to two sentence summary of your product's benefits. Fourth, tell your reader what they need to do.

Get started. One of the biggest issues that article writes have is putting their writing off until the last minute. If you want to write quality content to attract more readers, you need to give yourself time to do so. Don't put out shoddy work, or your readers won't be back.

There are many article marketing submission sites, but when starting out stay with just one site. This will give you a chance to become familiar with the website and how it works. Submit two or three articles per week for a couple of weeks before adding on another submission site.

Blogging is free to use on many websites, and you can use it to engage in feedback with your visitors. It is very simple to set up a blog and you can easily attract more visitors for your site and business.

Because you have gauged the level of expertise expected in the particular magazine you are writing for, you now have a good chance of success. You will want to write articles for some magazines that welcome highly detailed information, but also for some that want only a general level of knowledge. Matching specificity to the publication is the key.
